Marina Bay Sands (MBS) said in a notice on its website that casino operations have resumed on Thursday (Aug. 5).
MBS' statement, which was accessible via a banner on its website homepage, said that the casino had undergone deep cleaning, and that it adhered to "the highest safety, hygiene and testing standards".
The casino, along with other attractions at MBS, would "often" go beyond regulatory guidelines, MBS said.
90 per cent of staff vaccinated, will be frequently tested
MBS pointed out that it was re-opening with nearly 90 per cent of its staff being vaccinated.
It also said that staff will undergo Covid-19 tests with an enhanced programme.
Under the programme, the frequency of testing for staff would depend on their vaccination status, and their job risk profiles.
"This means that guest-facing staff will undergo swab tests at a frequency ranging from every three days up to every 28 days," said MBS, adding that it was "committed to being vigilant on all fronts", to work closely with the authorities and to "respond and adapt" to the evolving Covid-19 situation.
It also urged visitors "to continue to play their part". This included using the TraceTogether app or Token, wearing masks, and observing safe management measures.
Closure was due to ongoing transmission
The casino was closed for two weeks from Jul. 22, after MOH announced that there was likely ongoing transmission at the casino, in its evening Covid-19 update on Jul. 21.
The casino was closed to break the chain of transmission of the virus, and to enable deep cleaning of the premises.
Special testing operations were also carried out for all casino staff, and free tests were offered to casino visitors.
