The police have arrested a 29-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
According to a news release, the police said that they received a report on Saturday (Aug. 7) about a 26-year-old woman who had been molested by an unknown man at Block 116B Jalan Tenteram in Whampoa.
Arrested on Aug. 9, to be charged in court the next day
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras and CCTV cameras, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on Monday (Aug. 9).
The man will be charged in court on Aug. 10 with outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code.
If found guilty, he could be jailed for up to two years, fined, caned, or face any combination of such punishments.
