On Aug. 25, a SBS Transit bus captain was spotted patiently assisting an elderly lady to disembark a bus in Singapore.
Videos of the kind act, which appeared to be filmed by a fellow commuter, was later uploaded to Facebook, where it quickly went viral.
Step-by-step support
In the video, the bus captain, who appeared to be driving Yishun Feeder Bus Service 800, is seen guiding the elderly lady step-by-step off the bus.
After pulling the bus to a stop, the captain rushes off the bus, while instructing the elderly lady:
"Wait for me ma'am, please, a while okay?"
She then comes back onto the bus and thoughtfully takes the umbrella off the old lady's hands, so that she can disembark more easily.
After assisting the elderly lady and her accompanying partner in alighting, the bus captain also gestures to show them where to walk.
As the elderly lady walks off with a limp, the bus captain also looks back to check on her again, before returning to the driver's seat.

Some said that they had met the bus captain before, and that she is also very polite and sweet in person.
Others pointed out that it was important to treat bus drivers with respect as well, and urged others to pay the captain's kind act forward.
