The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 53 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Monday (Aug. 16).
This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore to 66,225.
48 locally transmitted cases
There are 48 new cases of locally transmitted Covid-19 infection.
Of these cases, there are 32 linked cases. These have already been placed on quarantine.
Another seven linked cases were detected through surveillance.
Nine are currently unlinked.
Five imported cases
In addition, there are five imported cases that were detected and isolated upon arrival in Singapore.
Further updates will be shared by MOH tonight.
