The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed that there are 63 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Aug. 11.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 65,953.
61 of the cases reported today are locally transmitted.
Drop in number of new community cases
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 758 cases in the week before to 448 cases in the past week.
The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased from 227 cases in the week before to 129 cases in the past week.
The seven-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 45.6 and 18.4 respectively.
118 active clusters in total
There are three new clusters today, including one involving Superland Pre-School (Kreta Ayer Community Centre), with a total of four cases.
In total, there are currently 118 active clusters, ranging between three and 1,151 infections.
Condition of hospitalised cases
508 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation.
There are currently 35 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and eight in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Seven amongst these 43 cases are fully vaccinated.
A large number (36) of the 43 cases who have fallen very ill are seniors above the age of 60. 29 of the senior citizens are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.
One, Case 66910, passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection on Aug .11.
According to the ministry, there is continuing evidence that almost all fully-vaccinated individuals do not suffer serious disease when infected, unless if they had underlying medical conditions that made them more susceptible.
Over the last 28 days, the percentage of unvaccinated people who became severely ill or died is 8.7 per cent.
On the other hand, the percentage of fully vaccinated people who became severely ill or died is 0.9 per cent.
Progress of national vaccination programme
As of Aug. 10, 72 per cent of Singapore's population has completed their full regimen/received two doses of Covid-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme, and 81 per cent has received at least one dose.
A total of 8,193,151 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered under the national vaccination programme, covering 4,383,631 individuals, with 3,936,162 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.
In addition, 138,879 doses of other vaccines recognised in the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) have been administered as of Aug. 10, covering 82,406 individuals.
