45 new locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in S'pore, 13 unlinked

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 49 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Friday (Aug. 13).

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore to 66,061.

45 locally transmitted cases, 13 unlinked

There are 45 new cases of locally transmitted Covid-19 infection.

Of these cases, there are 20 linked cases and have already been placed on quarantine, while 12 were detected through surveillance.

13 are currently unlinked.

According to MOH, among the cases are three seniors above 70 years who are unvaccinated and at risk of serious illness.

Four imported cases

In addition, there are four imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Among these cases, two were detected upon arrival in Singapore, while the other two developed the illness during SHN or isolation.
