73 new locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in S'pore, 21 unlinked

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 78 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Sunday (Aug. 8).

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore to 65,764.

73 locally transmitted cases, 21 unlinked

There are 73 new cases of locally transmitted Covid-19 infection.

Of these cases, there are 43 linked cases and have already been placed on quarantine, while nine were detected through surveillance.

21 are currently unlinked.

According to MOH, among the cases are five seniors above 70 years who are unvaccinated and at risk of serious illness.

Five imported cases

In addition, there are five imported cases, who had already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

All were detected upon arrival in Singapore.
