52 new locally transmitted Covid-19 cases in S'pore, 14 unlinked

There are a total of 66,281 Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore now.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 56 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore as of 12pm on Monday (Aug. 17).

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases reported in Singapore to 66,281.

52 locally transmitted cases

There are 52 new cases of locally transmitted Covid-19 infection.

Of these cases, there are 38 linked cases, of whom 35 have already been placed on quarantine, while three cases were detected through surveillance.

14 are currently unlinked.

Among the cases is one senior above the age of 70 who is unvaccinated and at risk of serious illness.

Four imported cases

In addition, there are four imported cases that were detected and isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Three were detected upon arrival in Singapore, while one developed the illness during SHN or isolation.
