By around early-September, about 80 per cent of the Singapore population are expected to have been vaccinated with two doses, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said in Parliament on July 26.
He also said he expects a similar portion by then for seniors aged 70 and above.
Singapore will then proceed to ease travel restrictions, especially for vaccinated persons.
Wong said the government will re-open borders, especially for vaccinated persons to travel.
They will also start establishing travel corridors with countries or regions travel corridors with countries or regions that have managed Covid-19 well, and where the infection is similarly under control.
These arrangements will allow fully vaccinated persons to travel to these countries without needing to serve the full 14-day Stay Home Notice (SHN) in a hotel when they return.
Depending on the risk level of the country they visit, Singapore will either replace the SHN with a rigorous testing regime, or shorten the SHN to seven days at home.
This will allow them to travel more freely. Those who are not vaccinated can still travel, but will be subject to the prevailing SHN requirements.
