Local actress Beatrice Chien passed away on July 6, at 81 years old, The Straits Times (ST) reported.
A post on Chien's Facebook page announced that cremation took place on July 8 morning at Mandai.
Chien is a veteran actress with roles in a number of feature films, short films and local dramas, as well as Hollywood production "Crazy Rich Asians", where she played the nanny to male lead Henry Golding.
According to ST, actress and thespian Catherine Sng said Chien revealed her late-stage pancreatic cancer diagnosis in 2020.
"She was very strong. She said since it's already late-stage, she just wanted to live out the time she had left happily," Sng added.
Chien ventured into the entertainment industry at the age of 15, starting out as a voice talent on radio.
However, she later gave that up to become a nurse, a career that would span the next 40 years of her life.
She returned to performing in 2000, after she wrapped up her nursing career.
Chien is survived by three children and two grandchildren.
