While the KTV cluster has gotten many of us up in arms about the blatant breach of Covid-19 measures, at least one Singaporean is taking it in his stride.
On the morning of July 22, before going to work, Basha Ahamed decided to take a 38km ride around Singapore.
Like other long-distance cyclists, Basha was also dressed in spandex — except he had a red cape, with a "S" emblem on the electric blue suit.
But no, it's not a bird, or a plane, or even Superman.
Basha had assumed the persona of Satayman, a.k.a. a valid excuse for the men who have contracted Covid-19, or been served quarantine orders from visiting clandestine KTV lounges.
The Satayman was propelled to fame after Toa Payoh Hawker Centre was closed, following the news that a satay stall assistant had been infected with Covid-19.
It was widely reported that the stall assistant had tested positive after visiting a KTV lounge.
He was later hailed as a "hero" for providing an escape route for other men who have also patronised the lounges.
Commenters were apparently quite cheered by Basha's outfit:
