Two children from a PCF Sparkletots Centre in Choa Chu Kang have tested positive for Covid-19, according to The Straits Times.

ST reported that they were from the same household.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) had informed the centre on July 14 evening that a child from Kindergarten 1 had tested positive.

The second child from Playgroup, where kids are typically aged 18 to 30 months old, was confirmed to have Covid-19 on July 15 morning.

Centre closed for disinfection

According to ST, lead executive principal Janica Ng said PCF Sparkletots@Brickland has closed from Wednesday to Thursday for deep cleaning and disinfection of the premises and equipment.

Contact tracing is also underway.

All children and staff from the Playgroup to Kindergarten 2 classes who were recently in school with the affected children have been placed on leave of absence from July 14 to July 26.

The school added that it would be unable to provide further information on the two children, due to patient confidentiality.

However, it will work with the authorities to ensure the safety of all staff and children.

Ng added that infant care services will resume on Friday, while all other classes are expected to resume on July 27.

Parents are advised to monitor the health of their children and to seek medical attention if they are unwell.

Both children were last in the centre on Monday and had cleared all temperature checks without any symptoms of being unwell.
