(Editor's note on Jul. 21, 11:20am: In view of the latest announcement of Singapore going back to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert), the President's Office updated that the Istana Open House on Aug. 1 will be postponed to a later date.)

With progress made on the vaccination front and the spread of Covid-19 under control, restrictions on social activities have been eased further.

Istana Open House will also resume on August 1, President Halimah Yacob said on her Facebook.

According to the Istana's website, ticket holders of the cancelled Istana Open House on May 13 will be welcomed back on August 1. These ticket holders will be informed about the details via email.

However, to avoid gathering of large groups, there will be no performances, tours, booths or food truck during this open house, unlike the previous ones. Safe distancing ambassadors will be present as well and only ticket holders will be admitted.

It's been over a year since the last time members of the public can visit Istana during its open houses.Top image by Icemoon via Flickr
