Cleaner at Punggol Primary & Westlite Juniper Dormitory among 4 new Covid-19 clusters in S’pore

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 139 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore on Tuesday (July 27).

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 64,453.

136 new locally-transmitted cases

There are 136 cases of locally-transmitted Covid-19 infection, 55 of whom remain unlinked, according to the night update.

There are three imported cases, who have already been placed on Stay-Home Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

Amongst them, two were detected upon arrival in Singapore, while one developed the illness during SHN or isolation.

Community cases and unlinked cases continue to be on the rise

The number of new cases in the community has increased from 642 cases in the week before to 967 cases in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 46 cases in the week before to 182 cases in the past week.

The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 112.1 and 26 respectively.

39 active clusters

There are four new clusters today including Westlite Juniper Dormitory and a cleaner at Punggol Primary School.

The Westlite Juniper Dormitory cluster now has a total of nine cases while four other cases are linked to a cleaner at Punggol Primary School.

In total, there are currently 39 active clusters, ranging between three and 902 infections.

Progress of vaccination programme

As of 26 July 2021, a total of 7,256,331 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered under the national vaccination programme.

The total number of doses administered covers 4,254,789 individuals.

3,122,180 individuals have completed the full vaccination regimen, consisting of 120,638 recovered persons who received at least one dose and 3,001,542 who received their second dose.

In addition, 89,047 doses of Sinovac vaccines have been administered as of 26 July 2021, covering 69,769 individuals.

Condition of hospitalised cases

545 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation.

There are currently 21 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and two in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).

One amongst these 23 cases is fully vaccinated but requires oxygen supplementation as she has underlying medical conditions.

13 seniors above 60 years, of whom 12 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, have fallen very ill.

Over the last 28 days, 27 local cases required oxygen supplementation, were admitted to ICU, or passed away. 14 are unvaccinated, 12 are partially vaccinated, and one is fully vaccinated.
