Warm weather is likely to persist in Singapore for the rest of June, with temperatures expected to reach 35°C on some days, according to the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS).
In addition, rainfall for June 2021 is also expected to be below normal over some parts of Singapore.
Short, thundery showers on a few days are expected
The daily temperature in the second fortnight of June 2021 is forecast to range between 25°C and 34°C on most days, reaching 35°C on days where there is little to no rain.
Warm and humid conditions are also expected on some nights when prevailing winds from the southeast or south blow warm and humid air from the sea.
Singaporeans can expect a minimum night-time temperature of up to 28°C on these nights, particularly over the south-eastern parts of the island.
In addition, on a few days in the early part of the fortnight, localised short-duration thundery showers are forecast over parts of the island in the late morning and early afternoon, due to strong daytime heating of land areas.
According to MSS, widespread thundery showers with gusty winds are forecast between the pre-dawn hours and morning on one or two days, although the overall rainfall for the month of June is still expected to be below average over some parts of Singapore.
