Prince Coffee House is one of those old-school Hainanese coffee shops that have been around for as longer than you can remember.
Actually, they've been around for over 40 years, and was named after the old Prince Cinema.
Quaint eatery along Beach Road
And just like many other F&B outlets in Singapore struggling due to Covid-19 restrictions and a dip in footfall from the office crowd, Prince Coffee House could use a little help.
An Instagram account, wheretodapao, recently featured the eatery along Beach Road as part of its efforts dedicated to profiling elderly hawkers and helping them get more business during this tough period.
In a submission by one "Nicolette", she had a brief exchange with the head waiter at Prince Coffee House, who was said to have taken over the business from the original owners.
The elderly man, known affectionately as "Uncle Jimmy Lim", told Nicolette that business was "tough".
However, despite the tough times, Lim still wore a "cheery smile" and even reminded her to give them a ring before coming down next time so that they can prepare her order ahead of time.

Those who have patronised the quaint coffee shop before will find Uncle Jimmy, who is a prominent mainstay of the eatery, rather familiar.
From taking orders to serving food, and also offering free dessert to patrons typically involving fruit or grass jelly, many responses to the wheretodapao Instagram post have highlighted his good service.
What to eat there?
Commenters also dished out recommendations for the various "comfort food" served there, including pork chop rice, beef horfun, oxtail stew.
The chicken pies are also a hot favourite.
