Earlier in May, the local entertainment industry saw a minor hullabaloo after aesthetic doctor Siew Tuck Wah wrote a blogpost critiquing Fann Wong's cheek fillers at Star Awards 2021.

While the article was not entirely flattering, it was not entirely bad, either.

But celebrity hairstylist David Gan, known to be a close friend of Fann, was none too happy with the doctor's analysis, which led to a lot of defending:

Those who have been following the saga will know that Siew took down the blogpost on May 14, the same day Gan complained about it on Instagram.

The real reason behind the post's removal, however, was apparently a lawyer's letter from Fann's team.

In response, Siew turned to legal means as well, where he sent two lawyer letters of his own to Fann's management on May 21 and 24, asserting that their claims were "baseless".

In a statement to Mothership, Siew said that Fann's management allegedly did not respond to the two letters.

Siew therefore issued another letter on June 3, stating his position that the contents of the blogpost are accurate.

According to the aesthetic doctor, he has yet to receive a reply in the two weeks that have lapsed since the third letter.

Siew added,

'"It is on this basis that I will treat the matter as closed. I would like to thank my clients and the public for their support, which motivates me to write educational and informative articles on aesthetic procedures.”

Welp ¯ \_(ツ)_/¯

Fann's management responds

In response to queries from Mothership, Fann's management has released the following statement:

"We had hoped that when Dr Siew removed his post,  the matter would be closed. There was no need to further engage.

We are advised that the Singapore Medical Council obliges that any opinion Dr Siew makes must be responsible and derived from good history-taking, adequate clinical examination and other relevant investigations or information sources.

We trust that Dr Siew will act in a manner consistent with the honour and dignity of the medical profession, so as not to reduce the public’s regard and respect for doctors."
