All residents of Block 325A Sumang Walk in Punggol will have to undergo mandatory Covid-19 testing, after a total of eight Covid-19 infections were detected there.
The testing operations will be conducted at the pavilion at Block 324, Sumang Walk on June 8 and 9, between 9am to 4pm.
Visitors to the block are also encouraged to get tested
According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), the eight Covid-19 cases were detected in three different households living in the block.
Leaflets have been distributed, and SMS notifications have been sent to residents of the block to provide them with more information regarding the mandatory swabbing exercise.
Residents are advised to monitor their health closely and consult a doctor immediately if they feel unwell.
In addition, those who are still waiting for their polymerase chain reaction (PCR) result are advised to minimise social interactions as much as possible.
Visitors of the block during the period of May 10 to June 5 are also encouraged to come forward for voluntary testing.
Common areas have been cleaned and disinfected
According to a Facebook post by Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Ris-Punggol Janil Puthucheary, residents living in the surrounding blocks need not get tested, unless they have visited at Block 325A during the above mentioned time frame.
He also said that the Town Council, together with the National Environment Agency (NEA) have conducted a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the common areas at Block 325A and the surrounding blocks, and commended them for their efforts.
