In a place that fancies itself to be a "garden city", nature and urban life are bound to mingle.
One example of this was recently posted on Singapore Wildlife Sightings Facebook page by a user named Gwen Ong.
"Hugeeee resident roosters at a coffeeshop," wrote Ong, attaching a photo of the said roosters lounging at an Upper Thomson eatery's tables and chairs.
Other photos showed the roosters having a meandering stroll between diners.
"I thought a dog went past me," Ong added.
The fowls are pretty much as described — chonky dark brown-feathered birds with hints of green and a proud bright red crest.
As the description suggests, the roosters seem to be regulars at the coffeeshop.
Abandoned pets?
However, one commenter wrote that a lady from the coffeeshop had said the birds were recently taken away.
Another commenter speculated that the roosters might be Black Copper Marans, a breed of chicken originating from France.
"These are not a native breed to Singapore," wrote Leanne Tan.
"So likely abandoned, or someone's roaming pet. Which is a shame because they are beautiful birds."
