Gang chants break out at Havelock Road funeral procession with 20 or more people

The police said they are investigating.

A group of people were seen taking part in a funeral procession along Havelock Road.

The video, which was circulated on Facebook, showed a group of people following a hearse.

They are believed to be the immediate family, relatives and friends of the deceased.

The procession involved loud music and several other vehicles, including cars with flashing LED lights, a lorry, and a bus.

According to the video, around 20 people were seen clustering around the hearse at one point. Safe distancing was not observed.

At least one photographer was also seen on site.

According to Lianhe Wanbao, the incident took place on May 26 at around 2pm to 3pm.

Under Phase 2 (Heightened Alert), only 20 pax are allowed for funerals at any point, on all days. Previously, the number was capped at 30 from May 8 to 15.

While there appeared to be around 20 people seen on video, the exact number of people taking part in the procession is unclear.

Some shouting making reference to a gang name can also be heard towards the end of the video.

In response to Mothership's queries, the police said that they are aware of the incident and are currently investigating.
