A body was found floating in Bedok Reservoir on May 18 morning.
The police cordoned off the area for more than three hours.
The incident occurred just before 7am.
Shin Min Daily News reported that the deceased is a 76-year-old man.
A passer-by told the newspaper there was already a blue tent at the scene when he walked past the area.
Visitors to Bedok Reservoir had to make a detour around the area that was cordoned off, according to the witness.
After the body was retrieved from the water, onland activities was said to have resumed as per normal.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force was called to the scene to retrieve the body.
Shin Min reported that the body was seen floating on the water surface.
When pulled onshore, the paramedic at the scene confirmed the death.
Preliminary investigations by the police showed there was no indication of foul play.
Investigations are ongoing.
