A 5m python paid a surprise visit to the toilet at a coffee shop in Kranji in the early hours of Saturday, May 15.
The reptile's appearance sent the two shocked stallholders working overnight scrambling for assistance.
A video of the python was subsequently put up on Facebook.
What happened
Lianhe Wanabo reported that the two stallholders at the coffee shop worked late into the night to prepare for the Covid-19 restrictions that were set to kick in on Sunday.
At about 1am, both stallholders suddenly heard a noise coming from the bathroom when the coffee shop was already closed for the day.
Suspecting it might be a thief, they made their way to the bathroom.
But when they entered the toilet, they saw a python slithering inside instead.
The Chinese media report did not mention if the snake made its way into the coffee shop premises via the sewage system or if it had slithered in from any window openings or crevices.
There was also no mention if the coffee shop was nearby a forested area.
At a loss as to what to do
But what was clear was that the two stallholders were at a loss as to what to do at that moment, Wanbao reported.
One of the stallholders then took a video and put it on Facebook.
The immediate reactions received was for the duo to seek help from the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES).
The Chinese media report did not reveal what eventually happened to the python.
ACRES said it did not receive any call for assistance, and based on the report, it can be assumed the python managed to make its way out by itself eventually.
