A man in Malaysia had gone for a woman's birthday party at a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur despite not knowing her well.
He was later told to pay RM920 (S$300) when they were splitting the bill.
Via China Press.
The incident went viral on Facebook after one of the woman's friends took to the platform to mock the man.
According to a photo of the receipt, the party took place on Oct. 5 and there were eight diners.
The man supposedly only ordered a burger, which cost RM88 (S$29).
Here's the burger in question, which came with a side of fries:

According to screenshots circulated online, the man was also told to pay for the birthday girl's share, amounting to RM920 (S$300) for the both of them.
China Press reported that the man refused, and eventually only paid RM460 (S$150).
In the screenshots, he purportedly said, "You guys earn a lot of money, so don't bully this poor chap. I can't afford it."
Apparently, the woman's friend had paid first, and had asked the birthday girl to pay her share, but was told it would be paid for by the man.
The woman's friend later claimed in a Facebook post that the man had said "very loudly" that he would pay for the birthday girl's share.
"When we were splitting the bill, this guy said very loudly that he would pay for my friend's share...
If you can't afford it then why did you say that? It's not as if we cannot afford it... You want to woo her, but you also want to have a "free meal"?"
Apology issued
The woman's friend, eventually apologised publicly for posting about the issue online, and admitted that she was being "rash". She said that she had already apologised to the man for the entire incident.
The man, who accepted her apology, also said he hopes that netizens will no longer attack her.
