The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has launched a pilot trial with more than 2,000 selected commuters in Singapore to expand the use of TL SimplyGo.
One benefit will be the ability to top up ez-link cards using an ez-link app.
The pilot was launched to expand the use of TL SimplyGo to include adult ez-link CePAS cards, beyond Mastercard, Visa and NETS Tap contactless cards.
Commuters using the upgraded ez-link cards will be able to:
a) Access their travel history and fare charges on the TL SimplyGo app.
b) Submit fare refund requests or claims through the TL SimplyGo app.
c) Use the ez-link mobile app to add value to their cards and another user’s card, such as a family member.
These commuters will no longer need to queue to top up their ez-link cards at ticketing machines.
The TL SimplyGo app was launched in 2019.
A pilot for concession cards to be upgraded will also commence next year.
This will be part of LTA’s plan to transit all commuters onto the SimplyGo platform over the next few years.
The move is to make use of technology for convenience and better service.
Those with no access to mobile apps can continue to use ticketing machines and TransitLink ticket offices.
Commuters who are interested to take part can indicate their interest through https://www.ezlink.com.sg/pilottrial and those shortlisted will be provided with an upgraded ez-link card at no extra charge during the trial.
