Workers' Party's Raeesah Khan has been issued a stern warning for the offence of promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion or race.

The police said in a statement on Sep. 17 that it has completed investigations, and arrived at the decision in consultation with the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC).

Earlier in July, two police reports were lodged against 26-year-old Khan for her social media posts.

The posts were made on Feb. 2, 2018 and May 17, 2020.

An additional offence of contempt by scandalising the court through her social media post on Feb. 2, 2018 was taken into account as well.

On the subject of the City Harvest Church ruling, Khan commented that Singapore jailed minorities mercilessly and harassed mosque leaders, but let corrupt church leaders walk free.

She then questioned who had been paid for this to happen.

She also commented that Singapore law enforcement authorities discriminated against citizens, and that compared to other groups, rich Chinese and white people were treated differently under the law.

Khan then ran as a candidate for Sengkang GRC, which her team won eventually.
