Cats might have a reputation for being lazy, playful and skittish.
But some of these felines can be awfully loyal too.
Nana, a ginger cat in Kelantan, Malaysia is one of the loyal felines.
Visits owner's graveyard daily
On Sep. 19, Hazlynn Nozi shared the tale of the cat on community Facebook page Kelab Pencinta Kucing Malaysia (Group).
Nana belonged to Hazlynn's late father, who had passed on two years ago.
Despite the demise of its owner, the male ginger cat never fails to visit him daily.
Special bond
In a report by Malay Mail, Hazlynn said that her father was a retired teacher who was very fond of cats and would always look after his cats.
Sharing more about her father, Hazlynn said that the six-year-old cat had a "special bond" with him, and that her father would always feed Nana before going to the mosque in the morning.
"Nana always followed dad to the mosque and waited for him to finish his prayers before she followed him back home."
Following its owners passing two years ago, Nana initially lost her appetite and some weight.
While it started eating normally after three months, Nana would linger around where its owner would spend his time, like the swing or his old car.
Always there
Her father was laid to rest at a compound in a mosque which is located right next to their house.
According to Hazlynn's Facebook post, Nana was the first to arrive at its owner's grave the day after he was laid to rest.
Here's a translation of the text:
"Can you imagine, it was already sitting there waiting for us when we arrived. It reached the graveyard earlier than your children, father. Please forgive us father."
Nana would also be there every time the family visited the grave:
Now, Nana would return home every morning to ask for food with its paws wet from the morning dew after visiting the grave of its beloved owner.
Hazlynn hopes that this experience would remind people to be kind to all living beings, even if it is just a cat.
