It seems like we're going to see a lot of more of the residents of Bikini Bottom.

Deadline reported that animated character SpongeBob SquarePants' best friend Patrick Star will be getting his own spinoff show on Nickelodeon.

Nickelodon is reportedly finalising deals for the show which will apparently be called "The Patrick Star Show".

Deadline also reported that voiceover recordings for the show have commenced and it is expected to be a 13-episode series.

The show will apparently be a talk show similar to "The Larry Sanders Show" and "Comedy Bang! Bang!". The former is a television sitcom revolving around a fictional late night talk show while the latter is a comedy podcast.

Deadline also reported that the series will revolve around Patrick Star and his family. While current SpongeBob SquarePants cast members will make occasional appearances, the series will feature a largely new cast with new characters.

According to Variety, this will be the second SpongeBob spinoff following "Kamp Koral", a prequel series that was previously greenlit.

Patrick Star is voiced by Bill Fagerbakke. You can watch a snippet of him doing the Patrick Star bit here:
