A total of 10 people were evacuated after a fire broke out in a flat at Block 419 Fajar Road on Sunday (Aug. 16).

A video of the fire was captured and uploaded onto Facebook.

Seventh floor

The fire appeared to have come from a unit on the seventh floor of the HDB block.

Flames and black smoke can be seen billowing out of the flat's window.

A witness told CNA that she saw residents of the affected unit and the flat directly above it being evacuated.

Responding to queries from Mothership, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that the fire involved the contents of a bedroom.

SCDF conducted forcible entry into the unit and extinguished the fire using one water jet.

No injuries were reported.

SCDF added that the cause of fire is still under investigation.
