The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 188 cases of Covid-19 in Singapore as of 12pm on Aug. 10.
This brings the total number of cases to 55,292.
The vast majority are work permit holders who are currently under quarantine.
Minister for Education and Multi-ministry Taskforce (MTF) co-chair Lawrence Wong said that the testing of workers in the dormitories was completed on Aug. 7, the targeted deadline.
However, Wong added that there might be several more days of high case counts of those with Covid-19 infections, depending on the outcome of tests of the final batch of tests of foreign workers who are currently still in quarantine.
There is one community case on the same day, a Singaporean.
12 are imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.
Further updates will be shared by MOH this evening.
