This year's National Day Parade (NDP) has to be carried out with safe distancing in view of Covid-19.
With that, some of the NDP segments such as the aerial display, state-flag fly-past, mobile column and even the crowd's favourite — the Red Lions — are moving into the heartlands
Earlier in May, the chairman of the NDP 2020 Executive Committee, Brigadier-General Frederick Choo said:
"This year’s NDP will be a landmark one. For the first time since independence, instead of bringing Singaporeans to a location, we will bring NDP across the island into every Singaporeans' home."
Fighter jets and state flag fly-past spotted in various parts of Singapore
While we are still a few weeks away from the National Day, the official NDP song is already playing and some residents have also displayed the Singapore flag outside their homes.
Adding on to the NDP feels is surely the ongoing rehearsals that are happening in the heartlands.
Some residents have already spotted F-15 fighter jets and the state flag flying past their estates.
The state flag is carried by a Chinook helicopter and escorted by two AH-64 Apache attack helicopters and will fly across Singapore when the national anthem is played on August 9.
