The police have arrested a 33-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On March 23, 2020 at about 12pm, the police received a report from a woman that she was molested by a man sitting beside her on the MRT train.
The man fled when she tried to detain him after they alighted from the train.
Through investigations, officers from Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on July 6, 2020.
The man will be charged in court on July 7, 2020 for outrage of modesty under Section 354(1) of the Penal Code.
If found guilty, he faces an imprisonment term of up to two years, or fine, or caning, or any combination of such punishments.
