July 1, 2020 evening will see the first GE2020 political debate happen.
You can read more about it here.
It will be called “Singapore Votes 2020 – The Political Debate” and will be an one-hour long event. The debate will comprise two segments.
The four parties with the most number of candidates at the General Election - the People’s Action Party (PAP), Progress Singapore Party (PSP), Workers' Party (WP) and Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) – will be sending a candidate each to each of the debates.
According to Today, the three opposition political party candidates for the English debates are Jamus Lim, Chee Soon Juan, and Francis Yuen.
Lim posted this photo before the debates.
"Unable to catch a single wefie given social distancing, but here’s a shot together with the panelists on tonight’s political debate; hope to bring our vision for the future of Singapore on a (literally and figuratively) larger stage! #makeyourvotecount #ge2020sg #workersparty"
In the first segment, a moderator will ask the four candidates a series of questions on topics including unemployment, helping businesses, and social mobility.
In the second segment, candidates will get to ask questions of other candidates in a structured sequence, as well as answer questions posed to them by other candidates.
