Baskin-Robbins Japan serves Pokémon-themed ice cream in Poké Balls

Baskin-Robbins in Japan is launching two Pokémon-themed ice cream flavours at its branches, one of which is new, reported SoraNews.

This is part of the ice cream store's 31 Poké Summer campaign will run from July 20 to August 30, 2020.

The new flavour is the Triple Soda with Pikachu flavour, which is said to be a mixture of melon, cola and "soda" ice cream. The ice cream has Pikachu shaped cookies incorporated in it.

A single scoop costs 390yen (S$5.06).

The other flavour, the Pikachu Thunderbolt Fruit Mix flavour, was previously introduced. It features chocolate Pikachu cookies, orange ice cream, banana, apple, yellow peach, pineapple, and candy bits.

Ice cream served in Poké Balls

According to SoraNews, Baskin-Robbins will also be launching the Pokémon Ice Cream Master Set, where your ice cream will be served in Poké Balls.

These come in a box that can be opened and used as a board game.

You'll have to purchase six scoops at one go, though.

Pokémon Double Cup

Alternatively, there's the Pokémon Double Cup, which comes in three different designs.

Customers will also receive one of the three Pikachu spoons.

A small double is priced at 490yen (S$6.35), while a regular double is priced at 710yen (S$9.20).

Baskin-Robbins will also be offering a Pokémon-themed ice cream cake featuring four different Pokemon and flavours.

The flavours include:

  • Pikachu: caramel and chocolate chip ice cream
  • Eevee: cookie and chocolate and strawberry ice cream
  • Yamper: popping shower ice cream
  • Scorbunny: very very strawberry and chocolate chip ice cream

The ice cream cake costs 3,200yen (S$41.48).

Pokémon the Movie: Coco

According to SoraNews, the release of these Pokemon-themed ice cream was speculated to accompany the theatrical debut of "Pokémon the Movie: Coco".

However, the release of Coco has been postponed to an unspecified date due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
