It was announced that Phase 2 of the post-Circuit Breaker period will officially begin today (June 19).
During this phase, F&B outlets, retail outlets and many other facilities are allowed to resume operations.
And it seems like Singaporeans have been waiting for this moment to happen.
Here's what Singapore looked like on June 19.
Daiso outlets
Daiso outlets all over Singapore apparently had queues even before its stores were opened.
Here are some of the outlets:
Chinatown Point
SingPost Centre
Sembawang Shopping Centre
Tiong Bahru Plaza
IKEA Tampines
Despite not opening its restaurants and bistros, IKEA at Tampines still managed to draw a large crowd.
Popular outlets
With schools reopening across all levels from June 29, it seems like some parents and students are stocking up on stationery from Popular bookstores.
United Square
Junction 8
Banks
Banks all over Toa Payoh were also full of people queuing.
Thankfully, most of them seem to be following the safe distancing measures.
DBS
Maybank
OCBC Bank
POSB
UOB
Orchard Road
Orchard was also crowded today, unlike the ghost town that it was just a few weeks ago during the circuit breaker period.
For comparison, this was what Orchard looked like during the circuit breaker period:
And this was what it looked like today:
ION Orchard
A lot of people were also seen queuing at retail outlets at ION Orchard.
Waterway Point
Punggol's Waterway Point was especially crowded during the lunch hour.
Basketball courts
Neighbourhood amenities like playgrounds and basketball courts are finally rid of the red tapes.
A coupe of youths in Sengkang were seen utilising the neighbourhood basketball court.
A group of more than five youths were also seen playing basketball in Jurong.
