A Facebook video uploaded on June 2, involving a car exiting a carpark in Singapore, has received much attention.

Car exits from pavement
The video starts with the car approaching the exit gantry.
But before it could reach the gantry, it began to reverse.
After a short pause, the car slowly moves forward before immediately swerving to the right.
The car is then seen going on to the pavement, avoiding the railing, and then going on to the road.
The camera then pans back to the gantry, which appears to have already been lifted.
Not leaving from provided exit is illegal
It is unclear why the driver did so.
In response to the video, some have suggested that the driver may have been experiencing problems with the gantry before that.
According to the Housing Development Board (HDB), a car owner can be fined S$70 for leaving a parking place other than through the exit provided for that purpose.
