Editor's note on June 12, 10:45pm: This article was updated with a statement by Raffles Institution.
Schools recently reopened at the start of June, and it seems teenage shenanigans have quickly ensued.
In several Instagram stories seen by Mothership, a student who appears to be from Raffles Institution (RI) was filmed playing around with money.
Flushes money down toilet and throws it off building
In the first Instagram story, the student clad in the black RI uniform and mask is seen standing near the parapet within the school's campus. The camera then moves beyond the parapet to show a S$50 note lying on the shelter below.
The clip has the caption "Whoops".
Another Instagram story shows a similar scene, with one student throwing the money off the building, the camera then panning to the other student in black.
The next clip shows the same student in black brandishing another S$50 note.
He then throws it into the toilet bowl and flushes it.
Another student in a green shirt stands beside him filming the scene. The clip has the caption "our toilet paper".
A Mothership reader who has seen the videos claimed that the boys are RI students who did this for "publicity".
The reader also said that the incident occurred on June 10 in the S. Rajaratnam block.
In response to Mothership's queries, Raffles Institution said that the three students involved have been counselled and the school will be taking strict disciplinary action against them.
