The Progress Singapore Party (PSP) announced a second batch of six candidates today (June 23) at a Zoom press conference.
During the conference, they also outlined some of the constituencies that they are looking to challenge.
Here they are:
West Coast GRC, Choa Chu Kang GRC, Hong Kah North SMC, Tanjong Pagar GRC, Pioneer SMC, and three newly carved out SMCs – Marymount, Yio Chu Kang and Kebun Bahru.
This is of course neither a finalised nor exhaustive list of where PSP will contest.
In March, the party had previously outlined their plan to contest 44 seats.
In June, they later said they will be contesting 29 seats.
Tan however did warn that things do change on nomination day, and that politics is "very fluid" so the final decision on which constituencies to compete will be revealed then.
The areas they're contesting are selected based on "whether (PSP) can win or not", Tan said. He also added that they will be concentrating on the west side of Singapore due to his connections with that area.
"There are certain areas I'm quite familiar with, for example I've been a doctor in the western side of the region, I was a member of parliament on the western side of the region, so we concentrate on the western side."
