Luxury hotel group Aman Resorts International has revealed information about Aman Niseko, their fourth Japanese property.
Slated to open in 2023, Aman Niseko is a 187-hectare wellness resort situated on the slopes of Mount Moiwa, Niseko, in Hokkaido, Japan.
Will have 31 exclusive "branded residences" within a nature reserve
Currently the only development on the mountain, the resort has a contemporary architectural concept, along with subtle references to traditional design motifs of the Ainu, Hokkaido's indigenous people.
The first of its kind in Japan, the resort will feature 31 exclusive "Aman branded residences" within a nature reserve, Business Traveller reports.
Each of the free-standing, two-storey residences will have an indoor and outdoor onsen (Japanese hot spring bathing pool).
Additionally, there will be "extensive entertaining areas, terraces and dedicated ski rooms" in these residences, according to Aman's website.
Meanwhile, the resort's other 30 guest suites will be located in a separate pavilion, which also boasts mountain views.
Aman spa and tea room
At the Aman spa, there will be extensive thermal spa areas for guests, with expert therapists to help curate wellness experiences all-year round.
There will also be an indoor lap pool and an aqua fitness pool that overlooks an outdoor terrace with forest and mountain views.
Beyond the spa reception area and lounge, there will be a tea room for guests to gather and relax as well.
Other seasonal outdoor activities guests can expect to partake in at the resort include skiing and snowboarding in winter, as well as hiking, mountain biking and river rafting during other parts of the year.
There will also be a two-storey kids’ club with a reception area, an indoor playground, a bowling alley, theatre, indoor swimming pools and more, Business Traveller reports.
