Up to 400,000 Singaporean households will be able to collect a S$50 voucher from June 25 onwards.
The vouchers, part of the Community Development Council (CDC) Vouchers Scheme, can be used at participating heartland businesses, including merchant shops and hawker stalls.
The scheme is designed to help lower-income households defray the cost of living, while supporting businesses located in HDB heartlands.
Collection of vouchers
The identified households will receive a notification letter confirming their eligibility, by end July.
A representative from the household can collect the vouchers at designated Community Clubs or Community Centres (CCs), from June 25 onwards.
They have to bring along their NRIC and the notification letter.
Each set of vouchers has a value of S$50 and comes in S$2 denominations.
The vouchers can be used at participating businesses islandwide, from June 25.
They expire on Dec. 31, 2020.
Participating businesses
There are 2,500 participating businesses, which will display a CDC Voucher Decal, indicating that the vouchers can be used there.
CDC Vouchers Scheme
The S$20 million CDC Vouchers Scheme was first announced during the Unity and Resilience Budgets, to support families with their daily expenses.
The scheme is "part of a larger suite of support measures to help Singaporeans," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr Heng Swee Keat.
