The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 261 new cases of Covid-19 as of 12pm on Friday, June 5.
This brings the total number of reported cases in Singapore to 37,183.
The lower number of cases today is partly due to fewer swabs being conducted, said MOH.
The majority of the reported infections are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
11 of the new cases are community cases — Six are either Singaporeans or Permanent Residents and five are Work Pass Holders.
Among the 11 cases, six are linked to previous cases, and are already in quarantine; one is linked to a dormitory cluster. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing for the remaining four.
Further updates will be shared in a separate announcement from the Ministry later this evening.
