On May 11, the Singapore Turf Club announced that it will be converting parts of the Singapore Racecourse at Kranji into Community Recovery Facilities (CRFs).
For the uninitiated, CRFs are facilities for Covid-19 patients who have remained well for 14 days and are clinically stable.
Car parks & arena to be converted by end-May
According to a media statement, these are the places within the Singapore Racecourse that will be temporarily converted into CRFs for recovering foreign workers:
- Multi-Storey Carpark at Racecourse.
- Car Park B at Racecourse.
- Sheltered arena at Singapore Turf Club Riding Centre.
Construction of the CRFs is ongoing and two of the areas are scheduled to be completed by end-May, 2020.
"The works will be carried out based on approved protocols and procedures by Government agencies, ensuring the safety and health of the workers and the equine facilities."
Other CRFs
CRFs were first announced by the Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) on April 28.
Other CRFs in Singapore include the ones set up by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) located at Amoy Quee, Bedok, Jurong, Guillemard, Lim Chu Kang and Tanjong Gul Camps.
