A 34-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
According to a police news release, police received a report on May 8 that a female individual had been molested by an unknown man at the Jalan Besar MRT Station on May 7.
Officers from Central Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him along Lorong Chencharu on the same day, through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras.
Police investigations are ongoing.
The offence of outrage of modesty is punishable under the Penal Code with imprisonment of up to two years, fine, caning, or any combination of such punishment.
