Popular K-pop girl group Girls' Generation (a.k.a SNSD) had a mini-reunion on May 10 to perform at their manager's wedding.
Performed at manager's wedding
They sang to "Kissing You", a Girls' Generation song from 2008.
The performance was complete with lollipop props, just like the ones they used in their stage performances.
Long-time manager
According to Koreaboo, their manager has also been with Girls' Generation since the promotion period of "Kissing You", making the song even more meaningful to them.
A reunion worth waiting for
However, it seems like the "reunion" has gone on for a while, as the members met up to rehearse before the wedding.
Here's a throwback video of the rehearsals by one of the members, Sooyoung:
Seven of eight members reunited
However, it wasn't exactly a full reunion.
Only seven of the members attended the wedding, as one member, Tiffany, is still living in the U.S.
Seohyun posted a group photo, with the caption translated from Allkpop:
"Soshi [Girls' Generation] has reunited for the first time in a while βπ» Now, π always π and forever Soshi π (ffany unnie [Tiffany] miss you π)"
To which Tiffany replied:
Reunion went viral in 17 countries
With news of the members reuniting, fans of girl group celebrated by trending the hashtag "#GG4EVA" in a total of 17 countries on Twitter, including Singapore.
Last comeback was in 2017
The 13-year-old group's last comeback was in 2017 with the album "Holiday Night".
A second sub-unit debuted in 2018 called "Girls' Generation-Oh!GG", with members Sunny, Taeyeon, Yoona, Yuri, and Hyoyeon. They released their first album "Lil' Touch" in September 2018.
