Singapore is hiring 1,000 digital ambassadors and only Singaporeans will be eligible to apply.
Multiple job ads have appeared online since May 27 by various agencies.
The role of digital ambassadors will be to teach digital skills to seniors and hawkers.
According to job listings, the primary job function is to guide seniors and hawkers “on their digital learning journey”.
They will impart basic digital skills to seniors in one-to-one or small group settings, as well as coach hawkers in adopting e-payment for their businesses.
The salary range for digital ambassadors has been listed as between S$1,800 and S$2,100.
Salaries vary according to the applicant’s highest qualifications.
The job has an 11-month contract.
Work will be carried out in shifts, six days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
Only Singaporeans are eligible for the job.
Applicants should be good with technology, flexible with working hours, and have good communication skills.
Experience in social services, community engagement or customer service, as well as the ability to speak one or more dialects would be advantageous.
