The video, shared to Facebook on May 17, 2020, was uploaded to the Singapore Roads safety/Roads Safety.SG group and has been viewed over 51,000 times in less than a day.According to the timestamp of the dashcam video, the incident happened on May 15, at around 5:41pm.

The child, a mere toddler, was seen riding on the middle lane of the Yishun Avenue 8 road, and was likely to be in the way of a lorry moving at high speed.

Luckily for the child, a cyclist who was riding along the road quickly stopped to pull the kid to safety by scooping him up and out of the way of oncoming vehicles.

The cyclist shuffled along the road to the kerb with his bicycle in between his legs after he scooped up the child along with the kick scooter.

Facebook users lambast child's parents, praise cyclist

Several online commenters criticised the child's parents for their negligence.

A few commenters assumed that the cyclist was the child's father.

However, some doubted that the cyclist was the child's parent, and praised the cyclist for his quick thinking to save a life.

According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA)'s regulations, riding a scooter on the road is illegal.
