A total of 11 Singaporean teenagers appeared in court on Wednesday, May 27 after they allegedly armed with knives, congregated and attended a "settlement talk" outside of their homes, despite Covid-19 circuit breaker measures.
The 11 pubescent youths included one young woman and 10 young men.
The young woman is aged 17, while the other 10 young men are aged 16 to 19.
All of them face similar charges: One count each of joining an unlawful assembly while armed with a deadly weapon and an offence under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act.
What happened
The young woman, Phoebe Chu, went to Block 221 Boon Lay Place at around 11:10pm on Monday, May 25.
She met six other male youths there: Leong Wei Zhi, 16, Tan Wei Hao, See Huan Foo and Jerome Tan, aged 17, along with Glenn Wong Jun Yi and Jovan Pang Zhiquan, both 18.
These seven youths were allegedly armed with knives with the intention of causing hurt to another group.
The other group comprised Cyrus Lim, 17, Keith Ser Sheng Kai and Lum Qi Xuan, both 18, Seth Lim, 19, and a 12th alleged offender not charged in the district court on Wednesday.
There was no mention if this other group was armed.
The cases involving all 11 teenagers have been adjourned to June 17.
Previous case of alleged rioting
Separately, Leong, Tan Wei Hao, Jerome Tan and See were allegedly involved in a rioting incident that took place at Boon Lay Bus Interchange at around 8pm on March 12.
The teenagers are accused of ganging up against three people to cause hurt to them.
Several of the teenagers were remanded for investigations, and all of them will return to court next month.
