McDonald’s Singapore announced on April 12, 2020 that five of its employees have been diagnosed with Covid-19.
Four outlets affected
The five affected employees work at the McDonald’s LIDO, Forum Galleria, Parklane and Geylang East Central outlets.
The affected employees have been quarantined in medical facilities and are currently being monitored by medical personnel.
All other employees who worked in the McDonald’s LIDO, Forum Galleria, Parklane and Geylang East Central restaurants have been informed to isolate themselves with a 14-day Leave of Absence (LOA).
The four outlets have been deep-cleaned and are closed for business till further notice.
Case Details
McDonald's LIDO
Two employees at McDonald's LIDO outlet were diagnosed with Covid-19.
Employees 1 and 2 last visited their workplaces on April 2 and 3 respectively.
Employee 1 was also attached to work at the McDonald’s Parklane outlet for one day on March 30.
The employee visited the doctor on 3 April for a sore throat and fever, and was given a five-day MC. The employee visited the doctor again on April 8 and was sent for a swab test.
Employee 2 had rest days from April 4 to 6, and visited the doctor on April 7 for joint pains and muscle aches.
McDonald’s Parklane
The third employee works at McDonald’s Parklane, and last visited their workplace on April 8, 2020.
Employee 3 was also attached to work at the McDonald’s LIDO restaurant on March 30, April 1 to 3, and April 6.
The employee visited the doctor on April 9 for a fever.
McDonald’s Forum Galleria
The fourth employee, who works at McDonald’s Forum Galleria, is a roommate of Employee 3. The employee last visited their workplace on April 8.
Although Employee 4 was not unwell, the company requested the employee to go for a swab test on April 10.
McDonald’s Geylang East Central
The fifth employee works at McDonald’s Geylang East Central, and their last day of work was on April 8.
The employee visited the doctor on April 9 for a fever and was referred to the hospital for a swab test.
