A Learning Vision centre at NUH Medical Centre has closed temporarily after a teaching staff tested positive for Covid-19, according to a press release issued by Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) on Thursday night, April 15.

The preschool is located at 1 Lower Kent Ridge Road #07-01.

Closed till April 23

As a precautionary measure, ECDA instructed the preschool to close temporarily from April 16 to 23.

The closure period covers the 14-day incubation period as the staff was last in the preschool on April 9.

In addition, all affected staff and children will be placed on a Leave of Absence during the closure period.

Limited service to be resumed on April 24

Barring any new developments, the preschool will resume limited service provision on Friday, April 24, to serve the group of parents who are working in essential services and are unable to extend their alternative care arrangements beyond the closure period.

ECDA added that contact tracing is ongoing.

Premises will be disinfected

In the meantime, the Centre said it will conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection of the preschool premises.

It is also closely monitoring the health of its staff and the children.

This is in addition to earlier precautionary measures that were implemented in accordance with guidelines provided by the Ministry of Health and ECDA.

These guidelines include the restriction of visitors, suspension of large group and communal activities, excursions and field trips, health checks and the stepping up of temperature screening for all children and staff.
