The Ministry of Health (MOH) preliminarily confirmed 1,426 new Covid-19 cases earlier on Monday afternoon, April 20.
This is the highest single-day increase in the number of reported cases thus far, and brings the total number of confirmed Covid-19 infections in Singapore to 8,014.
Of the new cases, 25 were found in the local community. 18 are Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents, while seven are Work Pass Holders.
1,369 cases are Work Permit holders who reside in dormitories.
This is by far the largest spike in cases related to foreign worker dormitories in Singapore.
Breakdown of new clusters
MOH later announced that three new clusters have been identified.
1) Jurong Apartments
Three cases identified earlier have been linked to a new cluster at Jurong Apartments dormitory (555 Upper Jurong Road).
2) Woodlands Lodge II
11 cases identified earlier have been linked to a new cluster at Woodlands Lodge II (190 Woodlands Industrial Park E7).
3) 8 Sungei Kadut Loop
Nine cases confirmed earlier have been linked to a new cluster at 8 Sungei Kadut Loop.
Under the Building and Construction Authority's (BCA) directory, a company named King Wan Construction Pte Ltd. was listed.
6,075 cases linked to foreign worker dormitories
According to MOH's release on April 20, 6,075 cumulative cases are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

That forms about 75 per cent of the total number of Covid-19 cases since the start of outbreak in Singapore.
Out of all clusters linked to foreign worker dormitories, S11 Dormitory @ Punggol (2 Seletar North Link) remains to be the largest cluster with a total of 1,977 confirmed cases as of April 20.
According to the situation report, only 179 of the cases were reported before April 7 and the rest of the cases were identified in the past two weeks.
Another 339 cases identified are work permit holders that reside outside of dormitories.
