The Electoral Boundaries Review Committee (EBRC) has just released its report on Mar. 13.

Which is big news, because it means that General Elections (GE) could be held within weeks to only a few months from now.

Of the new announcements, which include the increase in electoral divisions from 29 to 31, and the creation of a new Sengkang GRC, is that of 14 single member constituencies (SMCs).

SMCs are constituencies with one member of parliament (MP), and the new slate of 14 SMCs is one higher than the current 13.

Four of the SMCs are new—Kebun Baru, Marymount, Punggol West and Yio Chu Kang, and these four first-term MPs are likely to continue to represent these constituencies.

Another change to the SMCs slate is that three SMCs have been wiped off the electoral map—Fengshan, Punggol East and Sengkang West.

As of Apr. 15, 2019, the total number of electors is estimated to be 2,594,740.

Based on the 89 elected MPs, this amounts to an average ratio of one MP to about 29,200 electors.

Hardworking

With the increase in SMCs, you might be thinking that managing an entire constituency all by one's lonesome is no easy feat, especially when each SMC has an average of around 20,000 plus electors.

So which MP of which SMC could possibly be the most hardworking of them all? And which might have an easier time of it all?

This article will help you answer these rather innocuous questions if you're too lazy to compare between the SMCs yourself.

Based of the number of electors per SMC, the three "most hardworking" MPs are Teo Ho Pin, Muralli Pillai and Tin Pei Ling.
